Welcome! Thanks for following my travels and joining me on my latest adventure. I’m Monique, and I’m a San Francisco Bay Area native. Growing up I dreamed of working in the fashion industry, and after graduating from San Francisco State University, I accomplished that dream by working in fast fashion for almost 4 years.  This spring, while exploring Thailand, I realized it was time for me to knock another few items off my bucket list.  I decided that it was time to leave the retail industry and begin exploring a more rewarding career.  I spent my summer working at a nonprofit in San Francisco while volunteering with another nonprofit as a writing coach.  I explored a new career world and with that found a path I want to take when I finish crossing off major life goal #2, extended travel.  At the end of August, I boarded a flight bound for Sydney, and my return ticket was booked for November 18th.  Over 11 weeks, I visited Australia, Vietnam, Myanmar, Cambodia, and the Philippines

I explored a new career world and with that found a path I want to take when I finish crossing off major life goal #2, extended travel.  At the end of August, I boarded a flight bound for Sydney, and my return ticket was booked for November 18th.  Over 11 weeks, I visited Australia, Vietnam, Myanmar, Cambodia, and the Philippines.  I challenged myself to live with less planning, to embrace adventure, and to trust my fellow backpackers.

I’m home again in San Francisco and have am now working as a consulting project coordinator at Google.  The work is different than anything I’ve been a part of prior and I find that I’m learning more and more every day.
